Check-In

Pick up your personalized schedule, name tag and get ready for SLC 2013! Check-in will take place at the Chan Centre, unless you are a part of a sponsored group, in which case, please contact your group coordinator for more information.

Opening Ceremony

This is the start to your amazing day at the SLC 2013. The opening ceremonies consists of greetings, a run-down of your day, a word for some UBC VIP’s, a look at some of your “Faces of Today”, and your Opening Keynote of course!

Featured Presenter Session 1

Featured Presenters are distinguished individuals from various backgrounds who will share their life experiences and breakthrough journeys. They will provide delegates with insights into the concepts and practices of leadership. See the Presenters

Workshops Session 1

Workshops provide delegates the opportunity to develop new skill sets and discover new ideas and concepts. The workshops are presented by UBC students, visiting students, alumni, and community guests. See the workshops

Highlighted Project Presentation

Highlighted Projects showcase original, innovative initiatives that have been recently launched by UBC students and community groups. Presenters, delegates, community partners and alumni will have the chance to collaborate, and connect with each other to bring new ideas to life. See the Projects

Case Study Analysis

Case Studies are an interactive and collaborative component to connect senior-level students and alumni with important and current UBC initiatives. Participants will present their feedback and participate in a dialogue with faculty and administration. Delegates must participate in both the Case Studies analysis and discussion components. Lunch Session A

Have lunch in one session and enjoy one of the many Lunchtime Sessions in the other. Lunchtime activities are exciting and interactive sessions that are designed to supplement the breakthroughs that delegates will be having during their morning and afternoon sessions.

FreeFlow

This session will be an opportunity for students to explore what contributing to their community and to the global community looks like through connecting with community project leaders and developing their own projects. Learn More

Workshops Session 2

Highlighted Projects Special Workshop

This workshop is specially geared towards delegates who will attend the Highlighted Projects presentations in Concurrent Session #1. With the help of Brendan Clyde, the UBC mix Student Coordinator, “Taking the Plunge: Starting Your Own Initiative at UBC“ will go through the process of coming up with new ideas, networking with other passionate students, and getting the chance to make your ideas a reality.

Closing Ceremonies

The is the best way to end your day at the SLC 2012. The closing ceremonies takes time to recognize the Nestor Korchinsky award winner, more of your “Faces of Today”, the “Best of SLC” awards, and the ceremonies ends with a fabulous keynote speech.

Traditional Schedule

This is the traditional conference schedule with Featured Presenters, Concurrent Workshops and Lunchtime Programming.

Case Studies Schedule
