STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE | ARCHIVES
With generous support from the UBC Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) and the AMS Innovative Projects Fund (IPF), and now the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, the Student Leadership Conference began in January 2003. From the outset, the SLC has been a collaborative initiative of the Alma Mater Society and the University of British Columbia. Annually, the SLC is organized by a team of 15-20 UBC students, supported by staff advisors from the Office of Student Development, Student Housing and Hospitality Services, and Alumni Affairs.
Since 2003, the SLC has grown from 300 to over 1280 registered delegates at the 2012 conference. Past SLC themes and keynote speakers have included:
